Term 2, Week 6

Hello, my name is Tara Cuti and I have recently been welcomed to Staines Memorial College as the Library Resource Manager.

I am presently studying a Bachelor of Education in Primary and Secondary with a focus in English. Previously, I worked in healthcare as a Registered Nurse in Michigan, USA where I lived for 21 years. Nursing was a fulfilling and rewarding career, but I always held a dream in my heart to pursue education. I came to Staines because it’s important to me that I work in a Christ-centred environment that honours God and values His Word.

I returned to Australia to live in 2022. My heart is a little divided having two places I fondly call home, but it finds unity with family and friends.

I am the third of six children. My siblings are diverse in their career choices from defence to service with the Queensland Police to medical administration.

My husband Charles and I have been married for 19 years and have three children and two grandchildren. We also have a dog whose name is Gary.

I love to bake. Sometimes I bake late at night, sometimes early in the morning, and always when my 4-year-old granddaughter comes to stay. I also enjoy the quiet of a river and the solitude of a bush track; likely because of the time I spent in remote Western Queensland as a child throwing stones and tackling wild pigs.

Devotion – Be real

Devotion – Be real

Jesus was rough on Pharisees: ‘Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness’ (Matthew 23:28 NLT). They put on a good front but were devoid of grace, mercy, and compassion. And Jesus called them on it! Because we live in an appearance-focused society, Jesus warns us about the dangers that come from dwelling on the outer life at the cost of developing the inner life. So, how do you keep that from happening?
