Today our Year 6s finished off their persuasive art piece. Each student chose a cause they cared about and used oil pastels to persuade others to make a change.

On Saturday, all our Primary teams made the trip out to Sheldon College. Both the 3/4 and 5/6 teams played against strong TSAC teams. The 3/4 TSAC team were graceous enough to loan us some player as we were short meaning all students played the whole game. Both SMC teams played well but were unable to secure the victory.
Our 3/4 and 5/6 Netball teams had strong games against TSAC as well. Both teams played wonderfully showing excellent skill and determinatoin to both come away with victories. Well done to both teams.

Today our Kindy students smelt, tasted and ate some fruit and vegetables that were a bit different or we might not have tried in a long while.
Some fruit and vegetables we loved while some we decided we didn’t.

The GRIP Student Leadership Conference was a wonderful opportunity for our Primary Student Leaders to grow in their understanding of what it means to be a proactive leader in their school. Students engaged in fun activities, were challenged in their thinking, and encouraged in their gifting. They were given many opportunities to collaborate with other students to discuss the ways they could develop their leadership and respond to issues in their school community.

Tomorrow, Secondary students play againts Ambrose Tracey for Volleyball and AFL and Brigidine in Basketball. Volleyball and Basketball are being played at Ambrose Tracey and AFL being played at Sherwood Districts Australian Football Club. Good luck to all teams.

Congratulations to all the students who received awards at assembly this morning and well done to Miss Bien’s Year 4 Class for winning the ‘Shah Award’ (for cleanliness).
Our students led today’s devotion ‘Bravery’ by performing two live plays. Each play displayed what bravery looked like at school.

On Monday the 19th of February, we presented badges to our 2024 Leadership Team. Congratulations to all our new student leaders.

Tomorrow (Saturday, 17 Feb) GBC Primary sport will be at Redeemer Lutheran College for Round 2.
Weather conditions are under close observation, and families will be kept informed. Best of luck to all the teams!

At Staines, relationships are valued. Hence, we organise a camp for our Year 7 students in first term. This enables our students to forge deeper connections and establish friendships that can last a lifetime.
