ANZAC Day March

On Thursday, the 25th of April, we participated in our local community’s ANZAC Day commemoration. Our students marched, honoured the fallen, and placed a wreath during the memorial service. Lest we forget.

SMC ANZAC Services

A big thank you to Rachel Scott from the Redbank Plains R.S.L Sub Branch for speaking at our ANZAC Services this morning and generously donating books, a plush toy set, and a plaque to our school.

New Staff Member

Hi, I'm your new HPE Teacher, and I'm thrilled to be part of this community.

My journey into teaching took a bit of a scenic route...

New Staff Member

Hello, my name is Chloe Adamovics, and I am excited to be joining the teaching team at Staines Memorial College this term. This is the fifth year of my career as a teacher; I was a Year 5 teacher at Fernbrooke State School for 4 years (2019-2022).

New Basketball Court – Coming Soon

Staines Memorial College is dedicated to providing excellent facilities for our students to pursue their passions, whatever they may be.

In response to the expansion of our sports program, we are currently building a new outdoor basketball court and an indoor volleyball court.

Construction is underway, and we're excited to share pictures of the site where our new basketball court will be located. Stay tuned for updates!

Devotion – You Need God’s Help

Self-help books and motivational speakers are like cheerleaders standing on the sidelines shouting, ‘You can do it!’ They can be helpful, but if the ‘you can do it’ philosophy always held true, we wouldn’t need God. Paul understood this. That’s why he wrote, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ (Philippians 4:13 NKJV). Discovering the will of God requires faith for the impossible and a childlike dependence on Him. The Bible is full of men and women who discovered their destiny in the perfect will of God by doing things that would ordinarily have been impossible to do on their own.

Year 11 Camp

This Week our Year 11s went on a 3-day camp. On the camp students learned how to abseil and engaged in a range of team-building activities.

Devotion – Don’t Shout About It

Jesus said: ‘“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward with your Father in heaven. So whenever you give to the poor, don't sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do … to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. But when you give to the poor, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.’ (Matthew 6:1-4 CSB). Give generously and gladly but keep it to yourself. It’s nobody’s business but yours and God’s.
