GROW IN FAITH | GROW IN LEARNING | GROW IN CHARACTER

Curriculum overview
Our Secondary curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad, balanced, and engaging learning experience, while progressively developing independence, responsibility, and informed choice. Secondary students start the day with 30-minutes of Pastoral Care. During this time, the roll is taken, uniforms are checked, students check their emails and their Edumate portal. Once they are set up for the day, they finish Pastoral Care time looking at Character Strengths, participating in a devotion, completing a Bible study or taking part in PC Challenges.
MIDDLE YEARS SCHOOLING | REDBANK PLAINS
MIDDLE YEARS (7-10)
In Year 7, students engage in all Australian Curriculum learning areas, ensuring they experience a wide range of subjects and ways of learning. This allows our students to build strong foundational knowledge.
In Years 8 and 9, students study all core Australian Curriculum learning areas, but have some autonomy in selecting electives within The Arts, Technologies and Languages. Year 10 provides students with greater choice in electives, which allows them to deepen learning in their areas of interest and begin shaping their personal learning pathways leading into senior schooling.
All Year 7 – 10 students engage with Faith and Life, our biblical studies program which connects students’ learning to their faith. Approaches to Learning is also studied to equip students with the tools they need to understand and optimise how they learn.
*The selection of electives choices are subject to student interest and staffing availability.
SENIOR SCHOOLING | REDBANK PLAINS
SENIOR PATHWAYS (11-12)
Our senior secondary curriculum aligns with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) standards. Students in Years 11 and 12 engage with learning pathways, including General, Applied, and VET subjects, which prepare them for tertiary education, vocational opportunities, or the workforce. Students have the opportunity to attend TAFE at School or complete a school-based traineeship or apprenticeship. Our Teaching and Learning team track our senior students’ progress across their senior years through pathway conversations. All senior students are required to study one faith-based subject.
*The selection of electives choices are subject to student interest and staffing availability.
