Chicken Club Students Learn Animal Husbandry at Ekka

On Wednesday, August 14th, our Chicken Club students had the exciting opportunity to attend EKKA Show Day. We got to see our Light Sussex show chickens, which we had entered into the competition.

We also met with students from Livingstone Christian College, who were at the EKKA competing with their sheep and chickens. This was a fantastic chance for us to work with sheep and lambs and learn from the Livingstone students about young judging competitions and what to look for in a show animal.

Additionally, we had the pleasure of learning from St. Joseph’s Nudgee College. Their show team shared their knowledge about cattle, demonstrated how to handle them, and even let us pat one of their show bulls.

Over the past 2 weeks, our Japanese guests have engaged our students in a variety of activities, including traditional art and crafts, spinning widgets, and juggling, offering a fun and interactive learning experience.
