Devotion – You Can Change

Self-help books sometimes claim you can change your life in five or ten simple steps. It takes a lot more than that to make substantial and lasting changes in your life. First, change comes by drawing on a power greater than your own—God’s power. Paul writes: ‘I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ (Philippians 4:12-13 NKJV). Second, change comes from steady and determined hard work and effort. ‘And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart’ (Galatians 6:9 NKJV).

Primary Celebration of Learning

our Primary students invited their parents and carers to join them at school for an afternoon of fun and learning. The day started with a relaxing picnic on our beautiful grounds, where families played games and enjoyed each other's company. After the picnic, parents and carers moved into the classrooms, where students proudly showed all the hard work they’ve done throughout the year. From colourful art projects to detailed assignments, it was a chance for families to see just how much their children have accomplished. At Staines Memorial College, we are proud of our strong sense of community and the growth our students have made in faith, learning, and character. Days like today remind us of the wonderful partnership we have with our families in supporting each child’s development.

A Night to Remember: Year 12 Formal Celebration

Last night, our Year 12 students came together for a night filled with elegance, joy, and celebration at their much-anticipated formal event. As these students prepare to graduate and take the next steps in their journey, the evening was a wonderful opportunity for them to reflect on their time at the college and celebrate with their peers and teachers.

Mr. Makin, our principal, gave a heartfelt speech, reminding the students that they are made in the image of God and belong to Him. He invited them to continue growing in their faith, learning, and character, and to always seek guidance in their journey ahead. His words were both inspiring and encouraging, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present.

The formal was not only a celebration of the students' academic achievements but also a time for them to enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed and joyful environment. From stunning outfits to heartfelt moments, it was truly a night to remember.
