Term 2, Week 6

My name is Matt King and I will be teaching 3A for the remainder of the year. I studied at USQ Springfield in the first year that it opened (2006), majoring in Physical Education. I grew up in Redbank Plains and went to Kruger State School and Kruger Baptist Church as a child. I played Rugby League for the Redbank Plains Bears until I was 18. I have lived in the area for most of my life and am therefore very passionate about my local community. I began my teaching career at Springfield Lakes State School in 2010, teaching Years 2-6 with Education Queensland. I have also worked at Camira State School and Fernbrooke State School. I have always wanted to work in a Christian School, and I feel that it is a dream come true. I look forward to implementing my faith into my teaching. I am passionate about the message of Jesus and I know that he is the way, the truth, and the life. I want to pass on the good news to as many people as possible because it has transformed my life, and I know it has the power to change the lives of others also. In my spare time I like to read autobiographies, watch movies, hike and run. I am a massive supporter of the NRL and my favourite team is the Sydney Roosters. I try to watch as many games as possible.I have learned from experience that teaching involves strong partnerships with other staff, parents and carers. I believe such partnerships are vital to achieve spiritual and academic growth in students. I look forward to meeting you over the coming days and weeks. Please feel free to come and say “Hello”.
