Term 3, Week 1

Hello, Staines Memorial College Community! I’m Katie Freemantle, and I am delighted to be joining Staines as a Year One teacher. Throughout my working career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children in various capacities, such as a Free2Go Presenter with RACQ and an OSHC educator. These experiences inspired me to pursue a career in teaching. I chose to specialise in early years education because my passion is for nurturing young learners during their foundational years. I’ve been happily married for eight years to another educator, Brodie, who teaches secondary students. So, you could say we cover both ends of the teaching realm. I’m the oldest of three sisters, with a significant age gap that keeps family gatherings dynamic and lively. Family is central to my life, and during my free time, I cherish moments with loved ones or enjoy social outings as a self-professed social butterfly. I find solace in walking, especially by the water, where the peaceful surroundings allow me to ponder and unwind. As for my personality strengths, I am kind, friendly, organised, hard-working, and resilient. Once I set my mind to something, I strive to do my very best. I am eager to begin this new journey at Staines and contribute actively to this community. I look forward to meeting each one of you! Blessings,Katie
